Julie was named a Top 50 Riding Instructor in the
United States by the American Riding Instructor's Association for 2009. This distinguished award was presented in Naples,
Florida in November 2009 where Julie got to meet and chat with George Morris, chef d'equipe of the United States Equestrian
Team and legendary rider, trainer and coach.
Abingdon Park is an English riding program located in Aubrey, Texas, off of FM 428. Aubrey, in Denton County,
is in the heart of North Texas horse country and is just moments from Hwy 380, Denton and Lake Ray Roberts. The University
of North Texas and Texas Women's University are also nearby.
We offer lessons, boarding, training and shows
for adults and children ages 5 and up.
Abingdon Park is owned and operated by Julie Thomas, an instructor with
a Level III Hunt Seat Certification as well as experience and success in the hunter show ring and with the United States Pony
Clubs (USPC). Abingdon Park also offers an Equine Appraisal service - Julie is a certified Equine Appraiser with the American
Society of Equine Appraisers.
Julie has served as the Head Instructor for Windmill Stables in Richardson,
as the Regional Supervisor for the Red River Region Pony Clubs,and was also a USPC National Quiz Championships
Judge for 3 years. She had much previous success with her student program and show team at Windmill Stables and is building
on that success at Abingdon Park.
